Bomb Threat Reported at the Steeplegate Mall

UPDATE: Concord Police have given the all-clear after the building was evacuated earlier tonight.

A bomb threat was reported at the Steeplegate Mall on Loudon Road earlier this evening, according to customers and employees who are talking about the building evacuation on Facebook.

The threat occurred at sometime before 6:45 p.m. on June 2, 2015, when the building began to be evacuated by police, according to private posts on Facebook that were later confirmed by Patch. Witnesses reported a number of police cruisers around the building searching for any potential threats.

The Concord Police scanner Channel 1 was on emergency notification only status until about 7:05 p.m. when normal communication was allowed to continue on the channel. At around 7:15 p.m., sources reported that customers were being allowed back into the building.

Officials from the Concord Police Department and the Concord Fire Department were not available to comment or confirm the threat information. The mall also did not have any notification on its website or Facebook site.
