Boscawen Suspect Bit NH State Police Dog: Report
The NH Canine Trooper's Association commended "Veda," a K-9 unit, for not only getting her man but also surviving a bite by the suspect.

BOSCAWEN, NH — Seriously … man bites dog? Yup, that’s what The New Hampshire Canine Trooper’s Association is saying on Facebook after a reported shooting incident in Boscawen that led to three people being taken into custody and one person injured, according to press reports. The org posted a note commending “Veda,” a K-9 unit with New Hampshire State Police Troop D in Concord, for not only getting her man but also surviving a bite by the suspect.
On Jan. 21, 2018, local and state police were sent to Corn Hill Road for a report of a shooting. The site remained in lockdown for a number of hours. One suspect apparently hid inside a manufactured home and wouldn’t come out when commanded to by the homeowner and troopers.
“Upon the homeowner gaining entry to the locked structure by breaking a glass door, the male subject continued to ignore troopers' commands to surrender,” the post noted.

Veda was then deployed and she quickly located and apprehended the male subject – who was allegedly hiding under a pile of clothes.
“The male began kicking and punching K9 Veda and on-scene troopers,” the posted. “At one point during the struggle, the male put K9 Veda in a chokehold and bit her in the head. After a significant struggle, troopers were able to place the male into custody.”
