Boscawen Woman Charged In 2017 Texting Before Crash Case: NHSP

Paige Corriveau, formerly of Nashua, was charged with two counts of second-degree assault, reckless conduct after a child was injured.

CONCORD, NH — New Hampshire State Police formally arrested a woman on felony charges after she allegedly was using an electronic mobile device before a crash that caused a child in her vehicle to be seriously injured in 2017, according to a press statement. Paige Corriveau, 28, of Boscawen, was arrested on Jan. 24, 2018, on two counts of second-degree assault and reckless conduct. Back in March 2017, troopers were sent to I-93 in Bow for a report of an accident.

When they arrived they found a woman – Corriveau – and a 6-year-old child with serious injuries. Corriveau, who was living in Nashua at the time, was driving a 1998 Toyota Corolla when it crashed into trees about 100 feet from the Interstate. Both were transported to Concord Hospital and later, the child was transported to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center for emergency surgery.

“(The) preliminary investigation revealed (the) cause of the crash was due to distracted driving, specifically texting and driving,” according to Staff Sgt. William Graham of Troop D. “Cellphone records were obtained as a result of a search warrant.”

Yesterday, Corriveau was arrested on the three counts. She was released on personal recognizance bail and is due back in Merrimack County Superior Court on Feb. 15.
