Bow Man Charged with DWI After Fatal Crash

Alexander Burke was arrested in Manchester after an early morning accident took the life of a person in another vehicle.

A local man was arrested for felony DWI after an early morning crash in Manchester this morning that took the life of another person.

Alexander Burke, 31, of Bow, was arrested after the Volkswagen Tiguan he was driving reportedly collided with a Honda Pilot at the intersection of Lake Avenue and Union Street in the Queen City on Nov. 29, 2015.

According to police, Manchester Fire and Rescue teams along with officers, the city’s crash investigation unit, and American Medical Response ambulances were called to the intersection at just before 4:30 a.m.

ManchesterInformation.com reported this morning that firefighters used the “jaws of life” to free the victims of the crash. CPR was performed on one victim, the site noted.

The driver and three passengers in the Pilot sustained injuries, including one that was fatal, according to police. Along with Burke, a passenger in the Volkswagen was also injured. All were transported to area hospitals by four different ambulances.

Bedford Fire and Rescue teams were sent to Manchester to assist with mutual aid.

Police are continuing to investigate the crash but did arrest Burke this morning. Officials did not release the name of the person who passed away due to the accident.
