Brogan: Beloved Concord Author Is Back!
Margaret Porter's 16th book will be celebrated locally
Margaret Porter makes her home locally; however, her books take the lucky reader all over the world and to eras and places they might only dream about. Her latest and 16th book, A Change of Location, will be officially launched at Concord's iconic Gibson's Bookstore on Thursday evening, April 18th at 6:30 PM. It's FREE and not only an opportunity to listen to Margaret discuss her latest title, but a chance to browse the aisles of our amazing bookstore. Margaret's book will, of course, be available for sale and she will gladly sign your copy, or a copy you might like to purchase as a gift.
In the past several years, the scope of Margaret's books has left both readers and critics bedazzled. Everything from the Golden Age of Hollywood (The Limits of Limelight and Beautiful Invention: A Novel of Hedy Lamarr) to The Myrtle Wand, "a retelling and reimagining and continuation of the famous ballet Giselle, relocated to 17th century France and the court of Louis XIV." Readers have reached for copies while the reviewers have searched for adjectives to describe her work and skill at storytelling.
I have been privileged to read an advance copy of her latest book, A Change of Location, and it left me enthralled. This contemporary story is filled with richly drawn characters, unforgettable locations and an ability to touch every emotion.

Margaret recently sat down with me at Concord TV on my program, Capital Area Chats, to discuss her latest endeavor. Here is a link to our visit since nothing I could write here could better describe both her book and her writing better than Margaret. Please plan to join Margaret and her friends and fans on Thursday evening. I assure you that after listening to her insightful and charming discussion and the Q & A that inevitably happens, you will want to pick-up a copy of her latest title and may want to check-out some of the 15 books that preceded it.
