Two brothers were held on simple assault charges after allegedly beating up a man on Pleasant Street last month.
Ryan Daniel Sullivan, 17, of Concord, was arrested at 2:24 p.m. on May 17, on a simple assault (personal weapons) charge. His brother, Brandon Michael Sullivan, 19, a homeless man, was arrested about 20 minutes later, on a simple assault (personal weapons) charge and a bench warrant.
According to a Concord Police arrest report, officers were called to Presidential Oaks on Pleasant Street for a report of a fight in progress. When they arrived, they didn’t find any indication of a fight in the area. Officers were told that there were some people walking on Gale Street towards Memorial Field, so the officers headed over there. An anonymous caller later reported that the two people allegedly involved in the fight were the Sullivan brothers.

At the field, officers ran into a Concord High School employee who said there were people fitting the description of the individuals they were looking for heading towards the baseball field. The officers caught up with the brothers but they allegedly denied being in a fight.
“On the front of Brandon Sullivan’s shorts, I observed what appeared to be blood,” an officer alleged.

While talking to the brothers, dispatch advised that there was a man with a bloody face walking on Warren Street after leaving the Irving gas station at the intersection of Pleasant and Warren streets.
An officer went to speak to the man who alleged that he “got jumped by two guys” in front of the dentist’s office on Pleasant Street.
While walking with a woman, the man said the two were laughing about something that happened earlier in the day. At the same time, three people were exiting an apartment building on 175 Pleasant Street. The men allegedly thought he was laughing at them, and one ran up to him and allegedly punched him in the face. The man reportedly told the officer he wanted to punch the other man back but thought he might be a minor so he refrained from hitting him. The other man allegedly kneed him and punched him in the face again, with another man joining in.
The woman confirmed the man’s side of the story, according to the report.
Separately, the man and woman were brought over to Memorial Field where the Sullivan brothers were being held and positively identified them as the ones who allegedly beat the man up, according to the report.
Dispatch also informed the officers that Brandon Sullivan was wanted on a bench warrant.
Both were arrested and held on $5,000 cash bail. They were arraigned on May 17.
Brandon Sullivan has been arrested in the past. Back in July 2012, he was charged with a possession of drugs charge on South Street.
