Brush Fire Reported at Lewis Farm

Watch: 6 acres of farmland burns in Concord. Firefighters from Concord, Bow, other communities battled the blaze earlier today.

CONCORD, NH — Concord Fire and Rescue teams and other firefighters were at Lewis Farm in the southwestern part of the city battling a brushfire earlier today. The fire was first reported at around 1:15 p.m. on March 6, 2017, and went to two alarms at just before 2 p.m.

Numerous firefighters doused the blaze in a number of locations in the back of the farm, which is under new ownership. Firefighters ran out of water and continued to bring in tankers throughout the afternoon, according to scanner chatter.

About 6 acres of farmland burned during the brushfire, according to fire dispatch. The cause of the fire is not yet known at post time.
