Brush Fires Reported In Loudon And Concord: Watch

A brush fire on South Village Road in Loudon goes to two alarms while a second fire was reported near Black Hill Road in Concord Friday.

LOUDON, NH — Firefighters from Concord and the capital region were kept busy with two brush fires Friday in Loudon and Concord.

At just before 8 p.m., Loudon firefighters were called to South Village Road for a report of an outdoor fire that was quickly spreading and possibly threatening a building.

"It's heavy brush," one fighter said upon arrival. "It's climbing trees now."

Firefighters said the section of the property that was on fire was around 100-feet by 100-feet and they requested all Loudon firefighters to head to the home.

A few minutes later, a second alarm was requested, bringing firefighters from Belmont, Concord, Chichester, and Pembroke to Loudon to assist.

About two hours later, firefighters were able to get the blaze under control and cleared all units other than Loudon firefighters.

At just before 10 p.m., Concord fire and rescue teams were sent to another brush fire, this time, on Black Hill Road, near a homeless camp not far from the old Concord Drive-In site. There were cleared from the call after about 35 minutes.
