Join us at Boscawen Congregational Church on Friday, May 2 at 7:00 pm to welcome the Cinnamon Jazz Quartet to High Street Coffee House for the first time. The Cinnamon Jazz Quartet will present an evening of "Jazzpirations"- a guided experience of contemporary jazz with familiar melodies and bold improvisations. The quartet gathers accomplished musicians from around the state and features Cinnamon Blomquist on flute, Bill Wightman on piano, Jock Irvine on bass, and Joe Virga on drums. See them at https://youtu.be/gTW4WZjeWDM?si=xohLveuDVr6J1kW
Our feature usually plays for 30 minutes to open the evening and comes back for a short set at the end. In between we have 8 open mic performers. Priority for open mic will be given to those who did not perform at our March event. Sign up ahead of time by emailing Liz Kantz at highstreetcoffeehouse@gmail.com. When the list is full performers can go on the “backup" list in case we have cancellations.
Doors open at 6:15 pm, the music starts at 7:00 pm, and the evening is wrapped up by 10:00 pm. There will be coffee, tea & bottled water on the beverage table, along with our usual great selection of desserts, snacks as well as “light dinner” items with gluten free and vegetarian options. All are available by donation.
Admission to Boscawen’s High Street Coffee House is always FREE, though a donation basket is passed to pay for feature musicians, licensing, supplies, etc. The remainder is a fundraiser for the church.
Any questions? Call Chris at 603-520-9196. The sanctuary is handicap accessible by the door on the street side of the church across from the Fire Station. Bring your appetite and bring a friend!
