It's a children's storytime event, celebrating the launch of NH author Gina Perry's new picturebook, <a href="https://gibsonsbookstore.com/book/9781250330123" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">The King of Books</a>!
A laugh-out-loud story about an enthusiastic king who learns the power of books! It’s Book Day, everyone! And the King of Books cannot wait to show off all the things that he can do with his magnificent collection. He can make dizzying book towers, fearsome book-quakes, and even handy book trays for his meals. Much to the horror of his trusty advisors, though, it seems that the King of Books is oblivious to their original purpose. But when a fearsome Moat Monster takes exception to the King’s antics, the King of Books has to unlock the full potential of reading in order to save the realm. Gina Perry has crafted a comical story with friendly and bright art that treats all of her subjects with grace and compassion, and showcases the power of the written word (and also that books are much easier to read when you hold them the right side up).

They coordinate and supports the 350NH Youth Team, a diverse group of student activists from across New Hampshire. Their current campaign seeks to address the injustices of PFAS pollution in the state and make polluters pay for the harm they have caused.

Michael Ansara was on the front lines. In this fascinating memoir, he traces an arc of discovery: from the hope and moral clarity of the Civil Rights Movement to the ten-year struggle to end the war in Vietnam, with its sit-ins, marches, confrontations, and antiwar riots.
Ansara takes the reader into the minds of the activists detailing their successes as well as their mistakes. The Hard Work of Hope shows how he learned to become a more effective organizer and build the Massachusetts Fair Share organization. The book explores issues that remain urgent.
