High Street Coffee House - Catfish Howl Concert

High Street Coffee House - Catfish Howl Concert

Event Details

Boscawen Congregational Church Park, King Street
More info here

We hope to see lots of people at this lively, family friendly concert with Catfish Howl on Saturday, 8/2 from 4:00-7:00 pm in the Boscawen Church Park, 247 King Street.  * Concert only, no open mic this month.* This Zydeco Band mixes blues, rock, country, Cajun/Tex-Mex and originals. This band will bring the music of New Orleans to the park with a blend of accordion, brass, electric guitar, drums and the rubboard. With Catfish Howl, it's Mardi Gras all year long. Laissez le bon temps rouler!

Catfish Howl encourages audience participation, so we'll be distributing kazoos right before intermission to all the kids who are present and forming a "kazoo band" to open the 2nd set. The park has a playground for the younger kids. There is a $5 per person suggested donation. We'll be selling food from the grill, but other refreshments will be "help yourself" and the donation jars will be out. Not much shade, so it's good to bring a hat or umbrella. And sunscreen!

In the event of bad weather, the concert will be moved inside to the church sanctuary at 12 High Street. To learn more about the band, check out their web site https://catfishhowl.com/ If you have questions call Chris at 603-520-9196 or email us at highstreetcoffeehouse@gmail.com

High Street Coffee House is sponsored by the Boscawen Congregational Church. Be sure to mark your calendar to join us when we resume our 1st Friday schedule on September 5, at 7:00 pm at the church. Our feature will be Off the Cuff, a semi-acoustic instrumental and vocal quartet, interpreting great songs from the 20s to the 21st Century.  https://www.facebook.com/offth...   And we will also have room for 8 open mic performers.
