High Street Coffee House welcomes Davey O. on Friday, October 3 at 7:00 pm. This Buffalo, NY born and bred songwriter will be joining us for the first time. Davey crafts pure Americana that is not of the social and political consciousness, but drawn from the deep well of experience and human emotion - no hackneyed story lines, no insincere polish, just an unflinching poet's look at life. The characters are woven seamlessly into stories of which the song itself becomes the soundtrack for the movie playing inside the listener's head. To learn more about Davey O. visit his webpage at https://daveyo.com/home.
Davey will open and close the evening, and in between we have time for 8 open mic performers (2 songs or 10 minutes). To request an open mic spot email Liz at highstreetcoffeehouse@gmail.com. Priority is given to those who did not perform at our last event on 9/5. When the list is full Liz will start a “backup” list in case we have cancellations.
Doors open at 6:15 pm, the music starts at 7:00 pm, and the evening is wrapped up 9:45-10:00 pm. There will be coffee, tea & bottled water on the beverage table, along with our usual light dinner food (with GF and vegetarian options) and a great selection of desserts & snacks. Refreshments are available by donation.
Admission to Boscawen’s High Street Coffee House at Boscawen Congregational Church is FREE, though a donation basket is passed to pay for feature musicians, licensing & supplies. The remainder is a fundraiser for the church. The sanctuary is handicap accessible by the door on the street side of the church across from the Fire Station.
Any questions? Call Chris at 603-520-9196 or email the coffee house. Bring your appetite and bring a friend!
