Up North Orienteers invite the public to come try orienteering at
Bear Brook State Park in Allenstown on Sunday, May 17th.

With
New Hampshire in bloom, now is the perfect time to head outdoors and
try the sport of orienteering. It's the fun recreational activity
that is appropriate for people of all ages and athletic abilities.
You can participate individually or with friends and family. 


Orienteering
is an easy to learn sport that involves navigating between points
using a map and compass. Think of it as treasure hunting in the woods
if you like. 


Participants
may register and start any time between 10 AM and 1 PM. Experienced
orienteers will be on hand at Bear Brook to help newcomers learn the
basics and get started on their first course.

YOU'RE INVITED!&nbsp;&nbsp; Concord Greenspace has partnered with Concord Area Transit to offer an open house event this Sunday, May 17 at 2 p.m. for our 1st ever Ride and Learn event.&nbsp; This unique experience will give attendees an opportunity to&nbsp;hop aboard the bus for a one‑hour guided bus ride with leaders from CAT and learn:&nbsp;
<ul><li>A bit of history of the CAT system</li><li>How Concord’s local transit system works</li><li>Where CAT buses go and how to use them</li><li>How public transportation supports sustainability, access, and community connection</li><li>What the future of transit in Concord could look like—and how you can be part of it</li></ul>
This casual, informative ride is a great opportunity to ask questions, meet local leaders, and explore Concord from a new perspective. We will meet at 2pm on Sunday at the State House bus stop at the corner of Park and N. Recent developments and intervention by the Trump Administration have brought our attention back to Latin America.&nbsp; There is a long history of U.S. invasions, coups and other interventions in the region which are important to know as we try to understand the news and the people whose lives and land our government is again disrupting.&nbsp; For many years, Jonathan Moller has photographed communities uprooted by war in Guatemala.&nbsp; His work tells stories of their struggles for survival, respect, and honesty.&nbsp; He will share his photographs and words to help us get to know the land and its history, and the humanity and dignity of the people there.
Jonathan “Jonás” Moller is an award-winning documentary photographer and human rights activist. Since 1991 Moller has worked mostly in Central America (primarily Guatemala), as well as in Peru and Cuba. He is the author of two books on Guatemala, a book about Peru, a book about the diversity of young Cubans today, a book about Black Lives Matter in 2020, and his most recent book, In Transit: In the Company of Strangers, published in 2024.&nbsp; Moller’s work is in numerous public and private collections and he has exhibited and spoken widely in the United States, Latin America and Europe.&nbsp; Moller’s photographs have been used by many NGOs for educational and advocacy purposes including the Soros Foundation, Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch
