Join us on the Fourth of July at the New Hampshire Historical Society for a special open house to celebrate America’s 250th birthday. Enjoy guided tours of the exhibitions and see rare objects from New Hampshire’s Revolutionary past, including two flags from the Second N.H. Continental Regiment. Learn 10 things you probably didn’t know about New Hampshire and the American Revolution. Participate in family friendly games and activities while enjoying the festive atmosphere of downtown Concord, with a parade at 9 a.m. and a ceremony at the State House at 10 a.m. The New Hampshire Historical Society is open from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on this holiday. Admission is free.

Before the fireworks, come join us for an afternoon of fellowship and fun at the Granite State Baptist Church’s annual July 4th Picnic! Absolutely free, we’ll celebrate our nation’s independence. Savor the flavors of summer with delicious hamburgers and hot dogs with all the 'fixin's including cheese, sweet relish, ketchup, mustard, BBQ sauce, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, grilled onions, grilled peppers, grilled mushrooms, plus handmade on-location ice cream, homemade desserts, etc., and enjoy a variety of games for both adults and kids. PLUS 6-7 iced tubs full of your favorite sodas, at least 15 flavors. Make memories that will last a lifetime, RAIN or SHINE under our circus big top!
Date: Saturday, July 4th 
Time: 1pm - 4pm (or as long as the food lasts!) 
Location: Granite State Baptist Church, 236 Sheep Davis Rd, Concord NH at the big-top next door!

Concord's annual Fourth of July Fireworks display will be held on the evening of Saturday, July 4, 2026. Festivities begin at 6 p.m. with food vendors and music. Nevers Band will be playing at 7:45 p.m. Fireworks will be at approximately 9:20 p.m. (dusk). The rain date is Sunday, July 5.
To accommodate this event, several traffic pattern modifications will occur, beginning at 3:30 p.m. on July 4:
<ul><li>South Fruit Street will be limited to one-way traffic in a northerly direction, from Clinton Street to Pleasant Street.</li><li>Redington Road will be one-way in an easterly direction, from Tuttle Street to South Fruit Street.</li><li>Minot Street will be one-way in a northerly direction from Pleasant Street to School Street.</li></ul>
There will be several other minor traffic pattern modifications in the area and on the grounds of the New Hampshire Hospital as well.
At the conclusion of the fireworks display, vehicles that have parked on the State Hospital grounds will be directed to exit easterly through the campus and onto Pleasant Street. Motorists attending the fireworks are asked to observe all posted traffic signs and parking restrictions in the area. Parking in the Memorial Field Parking Lot will be restricted to handicapped parking only.
In order to minimize congestion, motorists not attending the fireworks are encouraged to use alternate routes during this period. Main parking lot for handicapped parking.
