Join us on August 1st at 9am for the 16th Annual Granny D Walk and 4th Democracy Festival!&nbsp;
At age 89, Granny D famously walked across the United States to raise public awareness of the need for reforming the way campaigns are funded.&nbsp; Her efforts later resulted in the McCain-Feingold Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act (repealed by SCOTUS in 2010). We have carried on her tradition of walking to bring attention to the ongoing issue of big money politics by holding an annual Granny D Memorial Walk.&nbsp;
This year's walk honoring our founder Doris "Granny D" Haddock will begin near Granny D's home on Cobb Meadow Rd. in Dublin at 9 am (Please plan to park in Peterborough at Riverwalk (48 Grove St.) and be shuttled to the start of the walk).&nbsp; The first shuttle will leave around 8:30 and the last shuttle will leave Riverwalk at 8:45 am.&nbsp; NOTE that we will stop for a bathroom break about mid-way, there are porta-potties behind Toadstool Bookstore (just over the Riverwalk Bridge).
We'll walk approximately 6.2 miles to Depot Square in Peterborough for 12 noon where we'll enjoy lunch and the 2026 Democracy Festival!&nbsp; Bring your raincoat, it's a surefire way to make sure it doesn't rain (forecast is for partly cloudy).
Can't walk the entire length? We'll have stops along the way for you to join the walk.&nbsp; You can meet us at Green Grocer at approximately 10:45 or Adams Playground at roughly 11:30.
If you would like to print and fill out the<a href="https://drive.google.com/file/d/135gpjU_6Pe8oyTfjkzHfmfZ_8UloS7it/view?usp=sharing" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank"> walk waiver</a> and bring it with you, that would save time at the beginning of the walk.

The 2026 Annual Craftsmen's Fair promises to be another year filled with amazing, inspired art and joyous interactions including many demonstrations and hands-on activities for all ages. The Annual Craftsmen's Fair is the largest fundraising activity for the League each year, allowing us to provide arts advocacy and educational opportunities for our members and the public year-round. Your ticket to this event helps us to create mentorship programs, offer small business education and master classes to our members, and coordinate artist-in-residence opportunities. We hope your visit to the Fair provides lasting memories, and a sense of connection to one of the most iconic arts organizations in New Hampshire!
Tickets are available for purchase at the gate each day. Purchasing tickets online in advance means a lower price and faster entry when you arrive. Free parking. No pets are allowed on the Fairgrounds.

Plan on Spending Saturday, August 1 with us in Peterborough for the Annual Granny D Walk and 2026 Democracy Festival!&nbsp; The walk will begin at 9 am near Granny D's former home on Cobb Meadow Rd in Dublin and will cover approximately 6.2 miles to Depot Park in Peterborough for an afternoon of celebrating democracy with music, speakers, entertainment for the kids, food and CAKE!&nbsp;&nbsp;
John Bonifaz of Free Speech For People will be our keynote speaker and we’ll also hear from one of our former interns, Charlie Savage, on the importance of high school voter registration.&nbsp;&nbsp;
We’ll have music by FolkSoul Duo, Eve Pierce, Ben Radcliffe and Sarah Mausner while we enjoy a potluck lunch with goodies from La Piñata Mexican Grill in Jaffrey, as well as free ice cream donated by Ben &amp; Jerry's!&nbsp;
There will be lots of family friendly activities such as caricature artist Sophia Asbury, face painting and democracy fan making for the kids.
