This month, Jazz Sanctuary explores “The Jazz of Parenting,” with music that celebrates the many sides of raising children and being raised: from the wonder of A Child Is Born and Isn’t She Lovely to the bittersweet reflection of Cats in the Cradle and the enduring love found in I Will Always Love You.
Our conversational time will reflect on one of those pivotal moments in every parent’s life: the realization that your child is becoming a person in their own right, with a perspective, personality, and way of seeing the world that is uniquely theirs. Maybe you remember that moment with your own child. Or perhaps you remember it from the other side—from the time when you began to realize that you were becoming your own person.
Whether you’ve been coming to Jazz Sanctuary for years or have never experienced it before, you’re invited. Jazz Sanctuary is a music-centered gathering where live music, reflection, and conversation come together in a welcoming, open-to-all setting. No matter who you are and where you are on life’s journey, you are welcome here. No church background, religious belief, or musical knowledge is required—just come as you are.
