Canterbury Shaker Village Issues Call for Artistic Submissions

Creative professionals, artistic citizens and students invited to participate in new exhibit “Shaker Traditions, Contemporary Translations”

Canterbury Shaker Village, the National Historic Landmark dedicated to preserving the 200-year Shaker legacy of innovative design, entrepreneurship and simple living is looking for creative pieces in a variety of media to be included in a new exhibit: Shaker Traditions, Contemporary Translations. The exhibit will showcase the many ways Village visitors and members are inspired to translate the Shakers’ commitment to simplicity and mindfulness into their personal expressions. Creative professionals, artistic citizens and students are invited to submit creative pieces by April 30th.

Have you visited Canterbury Shaker Village and been inspired to look inward? To reevaluate your approach to modern day life? To rethink Shaker traditions in a contemporary way? Have you created a work of art that embodies that inspiration and reflection? If so, Canterbury Shaker Village invites you to submit your piece for consideration.
