Capital Region Firefighters Tackle House Fire In Dunbarton

Video: A house fire goes to two alarms on Robert Rogers Road bringing firefighters from Bow, Concord, Hopkinton, other communities to help.

DUNBARTON, NH — Dunbarton fire and rescue teams and mutual aid from surrounding communities battled a house fire in town on Saturday.

Around 5 p.m., firefighters were sent to a home on Robert Rogers Road for a fire. Along with Dunbarton firefighters, tankers and engines from Bow and Hopkinton were also requested. According to dispatch, the caller said the fire started in the basement of the home. All occupants were self-evacuated, dispatch said, however, two cats remained inside.

Fire command, about five minutes later, confirmed “heavy fire showing from a basement window.” He added, “We’ve got a working fire” and requested a second alarm.

Firefighters, including tankers and engines from Concord, Goffstown, Hooksett, and Weare, were also requested. Concord also sent one of its ambulances, too. Firefighters also requested Eversource to the scene to shut off the power.

At around 5:30 p.m., Henniker firefighters were asked to cover Dunbarton station.

A few minutes later, fire command updated dispatch that all firefighters were accounted for and fire had spread to all floors of the home. Firefighters were also tapping into the water on Jacqueline Drive, a few streets away, command said.

At just before 6 p.m., fire command reported the fire primarily knocked down with firefighters checking the home for fire extension.
