Car Crashes Into Parked Car Closing Concord’s Storrs Street

Video: A driver was taken to Concord Hospital Sunday after driving into a parked car downtown; both cars end up on the sidewalk.

CONCORD, NH — Part of Storrs Street was closed to early morning traffic on Sunday due to a car crash between South Main and Theatre streets that sent one person to the hospital.

Around 12:45 a.m., police received reports of a crash, with airbag deployment, in at least one vehicle downtown. When officers arrived, they immediately requested fire and rescue teams, due to the seriousness of the crash. Traffic was also re-routed around the accident.

The crash was between a Hyundai Sonata and a Hyundai Elantra — with both of the cars ending up on the sidewalk against a guardrail of the northbound side of the street. Debris was strewn all around the south end of Storrs Street.

One of the officers said he believed one of the Hyundais was a parked car that was “pushed quite a bit up the road” during the crash, according to scanner chatter.

Concord EMTs took one person to the hospital while tow trucks were requested.
