Car Drives Off Route 4 Embankment In Chichester: Video

Fire and rescue teams sawed trees and brush to get to a driver trapped near the intersection of Dover Road and King Road on Wednesday.

CHICHESTER, NH — EMTs, firefighters and police were sent to a crash on Route 4 on Wednesday.

At just before 2:30 p.m., capital region dispatch received a report of a car crash on Route 4 near King Road. When Chichester EMTs arrived a few minutes later, they did not see any crashed vehicles in the area.

“We’ll be assessing,” an EMT told dispatch.

About two minutes later, EMTs reported a car, a Kia Forte, had crashed down an embankment. There was a single person, the driver, and no passengers near the car.

Command requested assistance by firefighters and a re-tone was issued requesting firefighters. A few minutes later, a second re-tone was issued and Chichester firefighters arrived.

Epsom firefighters, as well as the Chichester forestry unit, were also requested to the scene about 15 minutes later due to brush that needed to be cut around the Kia.

The driver was carried out of the woods by firefighters and police at just before 3 p.m. She was then taken to Concord Hospital.

A tow truck with a crane was requested to remove the vehicle.
