CATCH Receives Golden Trowel from Lakes Region Chamber
CATCH Neighborhood Housing received a golden trowel award from the Lakes Region Chamber of Commerce.

CATCH Neighborhood Housing is pleased to announce that it received the Lakes Region Chamber of Commerce’s Golden Trowel Award at the Chamber’s 99th Annual Meeting on January 25, 2018.
The Golden Trowel Award recognizes businesses for outstanding renovations and rehabilitations in the 2017 calendar year.
CATCH received this award for its renovation of the Franklin Light and Power Mill, now 45 units of affordable, workforce housing in downtown Franklin. The mill was originally constructed in 1895 and has housed many different businesses, including the Acme Knitting Machine and Needle Company, a foodstuffs warehouse, and rental storage space.

Sarah EM Stanley, CFMP, the Community Relations and CRA Officer at Franklin Savings Bank, nominated the project for the Chamber’s annual awards. She said, “The CATCH Light and Power Mill renovation epitomizes the Lakes Region Chamber of Commerce Golden Trowel award. This impactful project provides visible improvement from the rehabilitation of a mill building that had been underutilized for decades. Now previously vacant space will be home to many individuals and families because of this quality mill renovation on the scenic Winnipesaukee River. Franklin Savings Bank was pleased to be a part of this important project that is yet another accomplishment in Franklin’s continued revitalization movement.”
Rosemary M. Heard, CATCH’s President, said, “We are so grateful to Sarah for this nomination, the Lakes Region Chamber of Commerce, and the City of Franklin for their wonderful support of this development. We are thrilled with the transformation of the Light & Power Mill and are so happy that 45 families will have a safe, affordable place to call home there.”
