Chef Busted for Trying to Bring Drugs Into NH Prison
NHSP: Charles Hanson was attempting to bring more than $67,000 worth of drugs into the Northern New Hampshire Correctional Facility.

The New Hampshire Department of Corrections has arrested an employee for allegedly attempting to bring tens of thousands of dollars worth of drugs into the state prison in Berlin.
Charles Hanson, 49, of North Woodstock, was arrested on Nov. 12, 2015, and charged with delivery of articles to prisoners, a felony.

According to state police, the New Hampshire Department of Corrections and the New Hampshire State Police arrested Hanson after “a lengthy investigation,” according to police.
“The Department of Corrections received information that Hanson, who is employed as a chef, was bringing contraband into the Northern New Hampshire Correctional Facility located in Berlin,” according to Lt. Gary Prince of Troop F of the NHSP. “The investigation into this matter is ongoing and more arrests maybe forth coming.”

Hanson was arrested today while allegedly attempting to bring “a large amount of controlled drugs to inmates.” The value of the drugs was more than $67,000, according to police. Hanson was arrested and released on personal recognizance bail. He’s due in court on Dec. 29.
