Christie Coming to New Hampshire Next Month

NJ governor, potential Republican First-in-the-Nation Primary candidate to speak at annual Concord/Merrimack County Lincoln Reagan Dinner.

The third Lincoln Reagan Dinner, a fundraiser for the Concord Republican City Committee and the Merrimack County Republican Committee, is coming up next month and like previous years, local GOPers have landed another national Republican figure to speak.

Gov. Chris Christie, R-NJ, has agreed to be the keynote speaker at the event, scheduled for Monday, Feb. 16, at the Grappone Conference Center in Concord.

Kerry Marsh, chairwoman of the Concord GOP, said she was “very excited” that the governor would be coming to Concord.

“(Christie) has spent his career challenging the status quo to deliver real results for taxpayers and citizens,” she noted. “ We look forward to hearing his perspective on tackling the challenges facing the Northeast and our country. The Concord GOP/Merrimack GOP joint Lincoln Day Dinner has quickly becoming a signature event with nearly 250 attendees last year.”

Serving as the Chairman of the Republican Governors Association during the 2014 elections, Christie raised $106 million, increased the number of Republican governors from 29 to 31, helped elect seven new Republican governors and turned the corner offices in four blue states to red, including that of our neighbor to south, Massachusetts, with the election of Republican Charlie Baker.

Kathy Lauer-Rago, chairwoman of the Merrimack County Republican Committee, said that leadership made a difference.

“His insistence that every race mattered – even those in the blue Northeast – made such a difference,” she said. “We might have come up a bit short here in New Hampshire but he helped to make the race competitive with his fundraising efforts and multiple visits. We appreciate what he has done and continues to do.”

Last year, U.S. Rep. Darrell Issa, R-CA, made national headlines with his appearance in Concord, promising attendees that he would get to “the top” of the Benghazi terror attacks.

Tickets for the dinner are $50 per person sponsorship opportunities will be available.
