Gavin Bachman, 19, of Concord, was arrested at 8:05 a.m. on March 21, on a reckless operation charge.

The officer was on the other side of the school and walked to the front to find out what was going on.

Along the way, the officer saw Bachman leaving the scene in a 2004 Mazda 3 and reportedly waved to him to not leave. Bachman allegedly left, accelerating rapidly, and spinning the tires on his car as he shot out of the turn at a high rate of speed.

Once onto Warren Street, the officer alleged that Bachman “spun tires again” and traveled westerly on Warren Street driving through the Red and Gold and onto Pleasant Street, allegedly without stopping.

The school resource officer alerted other officers to Bachman bolting off the school's grounds and the car was later found at his home on Perley Street.

The officer at Bachman’s home questioned him and reportedly saw that he had scratches on two sides of his neck. The officer told Bachman that he needed to go back to the school and speak with the SRO and Bachman allegedly became angry, denied doing anything wrong, and demanded the officer leave.

The officer requested backup and Bachman allegedly became enraged. After other officers arrived, he was arrested.

Bachman was later released on $500 personal recognizance bail and will be arraigned on April 29.

Few details were available about the altercation at the school but a teenage girl and Concord man were listed as witnesses in the case. The man reportedly offered a written statement for the case.
