CONCORD, NH — The city has issued a winter storm event parking ban for Tuesday after about 6 inches of snow fell overnight in some parts of the city of Concord.

No on-street parking will be allowed on any street between midnight and 7 a.m. on Jan. 18. Vehicles parked on city streets must be moved so roadways can be cleared of snow.

“Cars not removed from the street can impede snow removal and block plows, especially on narrow streets,” an alert stated.

During the ban, parking is free in city garages between 7 p.m. and 8 a.m. in permitted and leased spaces and 9 a.m. for metered spaces. Garages are located on School, North State, and Storrs streets.

Penacook residents can use the Canal Street parking lot near Chief’s Restaurant even though the lot is posted “no overnight parking.” The overnight parking ban is suspended during the citywide winter parking bans.

Penacook residents are also asked to only park in public spaces in this lot, on the south side of the lot, along Canal Street.

“Do not block the construction gate into the adjacent Penacook Landing,” the alert stated.
