Clerk That Was Robbed Files Lawsuit Against State

Former Judge Chuck Douglas takes the case.

The New Hampshire Union Leader is reporting on April 8, that the who was threatened during an alleged robbery at the Manchester Street will file a lawsuit against the state for negligence.

Concord attorney , a former judge, reportedly wrote in a letter to the commissioner of the Department of Corrections that Julia Jones had suffered emotional distress during the robbery, noting that the robbery never would have occurred had , the alleged perpetrator, not be mistakenly let out of prison.

“Ms. Jones could feel the point of knife against her back and feared for her life, contemplating how many times he might stab her to death or whether he would slit her throat,” Douglas wrote, according to the Union Leader.

Douglas called Rand a career criminal who never should have seen the light of day.

Jones has been the subject of media attention since her quick action and skills she learned during criminal justice classes led police to quickly find minutes after the alleged robbery. Rand has also been charged with an at the on Loudon Road which reportedly occurred just minutes before the Cumberland Farms robbery.
