CONCORD, NH — Part of Concord High School was closed off on Tuesday due to a plugged sewer pipe.

Some afterschool activities were canceled on Tuesday due to the plugged sewer pipe on the western side of the building.

Matt Cashman, who handles buildings and facilities for SAU 8, confirmed the backup and said officials water-jetted the pipes and retested all bathrooms. He did not know why the pipe was plugged. During the water-jetting, they did have a camera in the pipe but could not identify the object or objects blocking the pipe.

Cashman said there were no issues with the city, but school officials did inform Concord General Services about the issue.

By Wednesday, Cashman said, officials hope to have “things put back together,” and will finish disinfecting areas of the school. One area which was closed to students was a practice area below the gym.
