Cold Front, Rain, And Thunderstorms Heading To New Hampshire: Weather Alert

National Weather Service: Expect stormy weather — strong, gusty winds, and flash flooding throughout the state Monday afternoon and evening.

GRAY, ME — Weather forecasters are warning of stormy weather across New Hampshire on Monday afternoon and evening.

The National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook around 2:45 a.m., warning of thunderstorms, rain, gusty winds, and flash flooding, too, all around the state. The storms are occurring due to a cold front moving into the region later today.

“Showers and thunderstorms will accompany this front and spread across the region from west to east starting by mid-afternoon in western New Hampshire and then spreading eastward into adjacent western Maine by late afternoon or early evening,” the alert stated. “There will be a risk of flash flooding.”

Forecasters said to expect “a few strong thunderstorms” that may produce “strong gusty winds” in parts of the state.

In Concord and the capital region, expect the storms to start around 2 p.m. and again at 8 p.m., according to AccuWeather.com. Nashua, Hillsborough County, and inner Rockingham County can expect stormy weather around 2, 4, and 9 p.m. Storms on the Seacoast are expected to hit at 2, 4, and 11 p.m.

The showers and thunderstorms were expected to continue into the evening.

The total accumulation of rain is expected to be between an inch and an inch and a half.
