Combined Mega Millions, Powerball Jackpots Near $800M

The Friday Mega Millions jackpot is expected to be $410 million, while the Powerball jackpot Saturday will reach $378 million.

CONCORD, NH — Lottery players have not one but two big jackpots to choose from this weekend.

The Mega Millions jackpot set for Friday is expected to be $410 million, while the Powerball jackpot Saturday will reach $378 million for a combined total of just shy of $800 million. If a winner picks the correct numbers on Friday, the one-time cash payout should be around $214 million. The Powerball one-time cash payout, if won, will be around $199 million. These figures are before taxes.

“We are very excited for our players as the Mega Millions and Powerball jackpots are dueling once again, and now quickly nearing $800 million,” Charlie McIntyre, the executive director of the New Hampshire Lottery, said. “We wish our players double the amount of luck ahead of both jackpot drawings. Here’s to hoping for our next New Hampshire jackpot winner.”

The lottery said the Mega Millions jackpot has been growing since late July when a player in Illinois who won the third largest lottery jackpot of all time in the United States, a $1.337 billion drawing. Powerball has been growing since early August when a player in Pennsylvania won $206.9 million.
