Comcast Contractor Truck, Jeep Involved In Head-On Crash On Route 106

Update: Route 106 by Rocky Pond at the Gilmanton line was closed for several hours during a fatal crash investigation on Thursday afternoon.

LOUDON, NH — Loudon police and the New Hampshire State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit are investigating a severe fatal crash on Route 106 on Thursday afternoon.

Just after 2:30 p.m., Loudon police, firefighters, and EMTs, and a Belmont engine were sent to the area of Rocky Pond for a motor vehicle crash with entrapment. Before firefighters arrived, Capital Region Fire Dispatch reported the incident was a head-on crash and both drivers were entrapped.

The crash involved a Comcast contractor utility truck with Pennsylvania plates and a Jeep. One witness reported one person was partially out of the vehicle’s window. One of the Jeep’s tires was seen about 10 feet from the vehicle, and debris was scattered across the highway.

When police arrived, they closed the highway. A Chichester ambulance was then requested for mutual aid.

Just before 3 p.m., Gilmanton police were requested to the scene to close the other side of the highway.

Around 3 p.m., DHART and Canterbury EMTs were requested to go to the New Hampshire Motor Speedway to transport a woman. DHART said they would be at the scene in 26 minutes. After hearing that, Loudon EMTs canceled the helicopter. EMTs from Loudon and Chichester transported people to the hospital.

Around 3:30 p.m., the New Hampshire State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit was requested to the scene.

The ambulances were placed back into service around 3:45 p.m.

Just after 6 p.m., Capital Region Fire Dispatch reported Loudon fire units had cleared the scene. Police are reportedly still investigating the crash.

The road was reopened to traffic at 6:30 p.m.

On Thursday night, police told WMUR-TV that one person died and two were injured during the crash.

The woman was identified as Kimberley A. St George, a mother and grandmother from Gilmington Ironworks, according to her obituary.
