The troupe ends its 97th season with Thornton Wilder's Pulitzer Prize-winning classic, with performances on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

CONCORD, NH — The Community Players of Concord end its 97th season with Thornton Wilder’s Pulitzer Prize-winning classic, "Our Town."
Set in the fictional town of Grover’s Corners, this classic play captures the everyday lives, dreams, and struggles of ordinary people as they navigate love, family, and mortality. The play’s innovative structure and minimalist staging highlight the universality of its themes, offering a poignant reminder of the beauty and brevity of life.
Long-time Player’s member, Greg Stuart, reprises the role of the Stage Manager performed by his father, the late Robert A. Stuart, 38 years ago. Well-known local author and actor, Kevin Gardner, joins Stuart onstage in the role of Simon Stimson. The cast also includes Hannah McCauley as Emily Webb, Jeremy Lent as George Gibbs, Jim Gocha and Alaina Oropollo as Mr. and Mrs. Webb, and Tom Andrew and Paula Mitchell Demers as Dr. and Mrs. Gibbs. The full cast of 34 includes members of the First Church, Hopkinton Choir. Original music is composed by David L. Almond.
Director, Cindy Dickinson, who has taught and directed Our Town many times over the years, noted that “The themes and overarching ideas of this play speak to us all, whether we live in a small New Hampshire town or the heart of the city. In producing Our Town we have a responsibility to lead our audiences to these important insights and understandings through the telling of a simple story. The elegance and beauty of Our Town are singular and I can’t think of a better company of artists to take on and succeed in this great challenge than the cast and crew of this Community Players of Concord production."
"Our Town" will be performed at the Concord City Auditorium, 2 Prince St. at 7:30 p.m. on May 2 and May 3, and 2 p.m. on May 4. Tickets are $20, and $18 for juniors/seniors. Tickets may be purchased online at communityplayersofconcord.org or at the box office 90 minutes before show time. Ticket info: 603-224-4905.
