Community Players Of Concord Plans August Auditions For November 'Come From Away' Run

The musical is based on the Sept. 11, 2001, diversion of 38 planes, carrying people from all around the world, to Gander, Newfoundland.

CONCORD, NH — The Community Players of Concord have announced auditions for their fall musical, "Come From Away," with an Information Night and multiple audition dates scheduled in August at the group’s studio on Josiah Bartlett Road.

"Come From Away" is based on the true story of when 38 planes carrying thousands of people from around the world were diverted to the airstrip in Gander, Newfoundland, during the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on the United States. The show tells the story of how residents of the small community welcomed stranded travelers despite cultural clashes and language barriers.

The production is scheduled for Nov. 20 to Nov. 22 at the Concord City Auditorium. It will be directed by Betsey Cox-Buteau, who directed last season’s "The Addams Family," with music direction by Michael Shaw and choreography by Caleb Anderson.
