Concord City Council Meets on Tuesday
Here's a rundown of agenda items for this week.

The Concord City Council meets at 7 p.m. on Oct. 14, in the city council chambers on Green Street. Here are some of the things the board will be discussing:
- Appropriation of $50,000 in city funds to the city of Concord’s 250th anniversary organization.
- Appropriation of $1,536 to the North End Opportunity Corridor TIF District Fund.
- Resolution accepting $108,000 from DG Strategic II LLC for sewer improvements on Fisherville Road.
- Resolution accepting $111,690 for FEMA grant funds for new protective breathing equipment for the fire department.
- Resolution accepting $3,000 grant funds from the NH Department of Safety.
Street closure requests
- A request for street closure has been made for Auburn Street between Liberty and Franklin streets for Oct. 31, from 5 to 8 p.m.
- A request for street closure for Halloween Howl from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 24, which would include Main Street from Centre to Pleasant streets, Park Street from North State to Main, and other side streets.
- Penacook Village Ribbon Cutting ceremony on Nov. 15, which would include Summer to High streets; and Merrimack to Village streets, and Merrimack to Sanders streets, from 9:30 to noon.

- A communication from the Concord Little League Board of Directors to the city concerning its decision not to renew an agreement for the usage of Martin Field will be referred to the legal department.
- A communication from the Concord National Youth Softball league about acquiring the lease to the partially developed field next to Martin Field will be sent to legal.
- A report from the Public Safety Advisory Board concerning the drug den on 74 Rumford St. and other safety issues has been referred to the city administration.
- The Varsity Club of Concord High School is requesting that the city consider naming the press box at Memorial Field the Gene Connolly Press Box.
