The Concord Coachmen Chorus Offers Holiday Harmonies This Season
Watch: The group, which has been performing in the region for decades, kicked off its Christmas concert series in Allenstown on Saturday.
CONCORD, NH — The Concord Coachmen Chorus kicked off its 2023 holiday concert season in Allenstown on Saturday at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church parish hall.
About 250 people were in attendance for the performance. The chorus has been performing tunes in barbershop style for nearly 70 years.
Its latest holiday offering, “A Coachmen Christmas,” featured “We Need A Little Christmas,” “Mele Kalikimaka,” a Hawaiian-themed holiday song made famous by Bing Crosby with the group wearing leis with flashing Christmas lights, “Winter Wonderland,” “Little Saint Nick,” the Beach Boys classic, and “Text Me Merry Christmas,” an original by Straight No Chaser, a male a cappella group from Indiana, which got a lot of laughs from the crowd due to its modern, satirical lyrics.
