Tierney reportedly then left the renovated apartment, went to their apartment, and locked her out, she alleged. He allegedly began throwing clothing around the apartment, she stated, and then, picked up a chainsaw, tried to start it, and allegedly threatened her, so she called police.
“While I spoke to Horton, I had to ask her repeatedly to clarify certain things in her story which were inconsistent,” the reporting officer wrote.
The officer added that the apartment that was being renovated didn’t appear to indicate that there was a struggle on the ground as she alleged, since there were hardwood floors and a thin layer of dust that was undisturbed.
Horton reportedly was rubbing her fingers and had a red mark on her chest but there were no other marks on her neck or anywhere else to substantiate her claims, the officer reported.
The officer then spoke to Tierney who stated that he was working in the renovated apartment when Horton came over and became upset about “needing a box.” He stated that he didn’t have a box to give her and they began arguing.
“Tierney stated he told Horton repeatedly to leave him alone and that he went next door to get away from her,” the officer reported.
Tierney allegedly admitted to locking her out, letting her back in, and then going back to the other apartment in attempt to get away from her screaming. The officer asked about the chainsaw allegation and Tierney reportedly made some admissions, including a desire to be left alone, but denied threatening her.
“Tierney was calm and his story was consistent with what I observed in both apartments,” the officer stated.
Tierney also alleged that she broke his LG headphones during the argument; Horton reportedly told officers that she grabbed the headphones while “trying to defend herself.”
The officer noted that there was probable cause to arrest both Horton and Tierney and did just that.
After a warrant check, the officer informed Horton that she was wanted by the Wilton Police Department for receiving stolen property and simple assault and she was held on $6,000 cash bail. Tierney is due to be arraigned on Feb. 23.
