Cofrin, Donovan are Newcomers to Concord School Board

Former teachers join board along with incumbent Jennifer Patterson.

Former Concord High School teacher George “Rusty” Cofrin easily won the District C school board seat against George Jack on Nov. 5, by a more than three-to-one margin, according to unofficial election returns.

Cofrin received 847 across Ward 8, 9, and 10, running strongest in Ward 10, where he received more than 400 votes. Jack received 256 votes in all three wards.

Also winning the new district seats on Tuesday were Melissa Donovan, who will represent Wards 1, 2, 3, and 4, and Jennifer Patterson, who returns to the board, representing Wards 5, 6, and 7. Both were unopposed.
