Motorcyclist Dies in Crash on Route 106

UPDATE: 59-year-old man killed after colliding with a pickup truck; parts of Route 106 still closed due to investigation.

Update, 8:12 p.m. Lt. Timothy O’Malley, the commander of the criminal investigations unit of the Concord Police Department, reports that a 59-year-old man who was injured in a motorcycle accident earlier today, has passed away.

Police were called to the scene around 3:45 p.m. for a report of a collision between a motorcycle and a pickup truck. The operator of the motorcycle was transported to Concord Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The deceased is only being identified at this time as a 59-year-old male, pending the notification of family, O’Mally stated.

The two occupants of the pickup truck sustained no injuries.

Route 106 between D’Amante Drive and Triangle Park Drive has been closed until further notice while investigators inspect the scene.

The cause of the collision is under investigation at this time. Police ask that if anyone witnessed this collision or has information about it, to contact the Concord Police Department at 603-225-8600 or the Concord Regional Crimeline at 603-226-3100.

Update: 5:30 p.m. Concord Police are reporting that the area around Target at Route 106, D’Amante Drive, and Triangle Park Drive are closed until further notice. Patch should have an update about the crash soon.

Concord Fire and Rescue teams and police were called to a motorcycle accident on Route 106 and Triangle Park Drive, near Target, according to posts on Twitter and alerts.

The accident occurred at just after 4 p.m. on July 31, 2015, between the motorcycle and a truck.

According to Northeast Fire Alerts, a patient was treated at the scene and transported on trauma alert to Concord Hospital.

At 4:20 p.m., Concord Police also sent officers to Beacon Street for a hit-and-run accident and then to Washington and North State streets for a two-car accident.
