Concord Firefighters Extinguish Another Homeless Camp Fire: Watch

A call for an outside fire near a hotel led firefighters and EMTs to a homeless camp underneath the Water Street bridge on Wednesday.

CONCORD, NH — Concord fire and rescue teams were sent to a homeless camp fire on Wednesday underneath the Water Street bridge.

Dispatch received a call just after 9:45 p.m. of a report of an outside fire near the Fairfield Inn on Gulf Street. When firefighters arrived, they found a large outside fire nearby, at a homeless camp under the bridge.

Teams accessed the fire from Gas Street on the opposite of the bridge. At 10 p.m., an ambulance was requested to the area, too.

About 20 minutes later, command reported the fire had been extinguished and teams were clearing the scene.

Concord firefighters have been called to the area below the Water Street bridge a number of times for fires at the homeless camp there during the past few years.
