Concord Firefighters Rescue Dog from Storm Drain
The pooch was trapped and firefighters used the Jaws of Life save it.

CONCORD, NH – Concord Firefighters and Police officers have been busy of late: A truck fire on Fort Eddy Road this morning, a motorcycle crash this afternoon on Loudon Road, and a rollover that shut down another section of Loudon Road yesterday, but they always manage find time to lend a hand when needed.
Like this afternoon, both were called to North State Street near the Mill West apartments for a dog stuck in a storm drain.
According to scanner chatter, Concord Police dispatch received a call about two dogs stuck in the storm drain. The caller and others were able to get one of the dogs out but couldn’t get the second one out.

An officer sent to the scene also couldn’t get the dog out and radioed that maybe New Hampshire Fish & Game should be called in to assist. That is when firefighters from Engine 5 and Battalion 3 showed up and were able to use the Jaws of Life to free the dog, Gracie.
“She is doing well and is with her happy owner tonight,” according to a post on Facebook.
