Concord Firefighters Sent To Porch Fire On North State Street

A fire on a porch was put out before firefighters arrived on Wednesday. One resident was checked for smoke inhalation.

CONCORD, NH — Concord fire and rescue teams were sent to North State Street for a porch fire on Wednesday.

Before arriving, dispatch informed them that it might not be a porch burning but, instead, something burning on the porch of the home which was just off the intersection with Granite Avenue.

Everyone in the home had been evacuated, too, she said at just after 8:15 p.m. Later dispatch confirmed it was an item on fire on the porch that had been extinguished.

The arriving battalion chief said, upon arrival, “nothing obvious but we’ll be checking.”

Concord police and firefighters also re-routed traffic onto Rumford Street.

Firefighters confirmed the fire hazard had been extinguished and they began removing smoke from the building. EMTs also checked out one resident for smoke inhalation.

Firefighters cleaned up, opened the street back up, and left the area around 8:45 p.m.
