Lights will be out in the Capital Commons Parking Garage on Storrs Street for a number of days.

During yesterday’s thunderstorm, the Capital Commons Garage on Storrs Street was struck by lightning, knocking out power to the garage.
The lightning strike on Aug. 4, 2015, caused “extensive damage” to the electrical system in the garage. Electricity will not be restored for several days as the city makes repairs to the system. No official date has been set on the completion of the repairs.
The garage will open to the public at 6 a.m. and close at 7 p.m., until further notice. The elevator will also not be operational during this time period.
