The Concord Grange # 322 will kick off its 100th Anniversary and celebrating Grange Month with its 38th annual Community & Grange Awards Night. This will be held Monday, April 21 at 7:30 p.m. at the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Hall, 48 Airport Road (formerly the Concord Elks Hall). Dick Patten has coordinated this awards ceremony for 43 years (5 years with the Concord Jaycees before they disbanded) and the rest with the Grange. The awards that will be presented are as follows: Citizen, Police Officer, firefighter, john H. West Memorial Award for Outstanding Teacher, Community Spirit, Youth, Lifetime Achievement Awards, and Grange Awards. Following the awards. there will be refreshments. This meeting is open to the public. This evening will be the first event to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Concord-Pineconia Grange. The Grange was formed on the Concord Plains in May of 1914 by members of the Prescott, Stearns, Welcome, Mahoney, and Cherette Families. The Grange is currently working on a cookbook with historical information throughout the book. The Grange is trying to raise money for a flagpole for Keach Park to be dedicated this spring or summer.
