Concord High School Senior Shirts Pulled Due to Offensive Graphic
Students requested to return T-shirts due to racist KKK, "Go White," drug, and anti-gay references; Rath calls the graphic "unfortunate."

Concord High School students are being asked to return their Senior Shirts after offensive references were found hidden in the graphic of the T-shirt, according to posts on social media and information sent to Concord NH Patch.
The graphic, a large wave representing the school’s Crimson Tide logo, is peppered with school spirit mottos, activities that take place at the school, and a rallying cry for the school’s principal, Gene Connolly, who has ALS.
But also hidden in different parts of the graphic three Ks, a reference to the Ku Klux Klan, the words “Go White,” drug references, and other words that could be perceived as anti-gay slurs.

After seeing the graphic, white ink printed on maroon shirts, the school colors, administrators began requesting the T-shirts be returned, according to students.
Connolly offered no comment about the T-shirts at post time.

“There’s no comment to make,” said Lisa Lamb, Connolly’s secretary.
School Superintendent Chris Rath said the entire incident was “unfortunate” but believed that the leadership team at the high school made the right call asking for the shirts to be returned.
It is unknown at post time what students were involved in the graphic, the chain of command for the graphic’s approval, or how much was spent on the T-shirts. The T-shirts were a part of a fundraising initiative for the senior class, she said.
