Concord High School Wrestlers Return To Winning Ways
The Crimson Tide varsity team went 4-0 Saturday vs. Alvirne, ConVal, Dover, and Portsmouth; JV places 9th at Winnisquam Winter Classic.
CONCORD, NH — The Concord High School varsity wrestling team returned to its winning ways on Saturday, besting four other schools at a quad.
The Crimson Tide crushed the Alvirne High School Broncos of Hudson, 72 to 12. The team also beat Portsmouth High School Clippers, 57 to 18, and Dover High School Green Wave, 6 to 0. They were also victorious against ConVal Regional High School Cougars, 51 to 12.
CHS is now 11-1.

The Nashua South High School Panthers were also on hand but did not wrestle Concord. The teams will wrestle on Wednesday.

JV Wrestlers Place 9th
Concord junior varsity wrestlers placed ninth at the Winnisquam Winter Classic out 16 teams, also on Saturday, with 94 points.
Jeff Riordon placed second in the 170 weight category while Wayne Gutierrez-Sakakeeny came in third in the 285 class, going three and one with three pins. Avery Lawrence and Isaiah Puckett placed fourth, while Jeremy Richard, Jacob Breau, and Festo Bahininwa all placed sixth.
Spaulding High School of Rochester won with 245.5 points, followed by Mascoma Valley Regional High School in Canaan with 151 and Winnisquam Regional High School of Tilton with 137. Timberlane Regional High School earned 119, Lebanon 110, and Kearsarge Regional High School 105.5. Middlebury Union High School had 97.5 points while Raymond High School had 95, Plymouth High School 70, Pinkerton Academy of Derry 37, Stevens High School of Claremont 22, Newport Middle High School 21, Keene High School 19, Monadnock Regional High School 18, and White Mountains Regional High School with 11.
