Concord Hosts Grammy-Nominated Cherish The Ladies 40th Anniversary Tour
The acclaimed ensemble, known for redefining Irish traditional music, will perform in Concord as part of its anniversary tour.

CONCORD, NH — The Grammy-nominated Irish supergroup Cherish the Ladies will bring their 40th-anniversary tour to Concord Center for the Arts on Saturday, March 7.
The show will be held at 7 p.m.
The ensemble features ten artists in Irish music, song, and dance. This engagement is part of the group's limited annual touring schedule.

Formed to highlight women in Irish traditional music, Cherish the Ladies has spent four decades influencing the genre. The group has released 18 albums, performed worldwide, and appeared at the White House and the Olympics. Their Emmy Award-winning PBS special, "An Irish Homecoming," reached millions of viewers. A street in the Bronx was officially named "Joanie Madden and Cherish the Ladies Way" in their honor.
Joanie Madden leads the current touring ensemble. The lineup includes Mary Coogan on guitar, Mirella Murray on accordion, Nollaig Casey on fiddle, Kate Purcell on lead vocals and guitar, and Hannah Collins on piano and concertina. World champion step dancers Tyler Schwartz, Nathan Pilatzke, and Joe Harrison will also perform. The performance aims to honor tradition while delivering contemporary energy.

"It’s extraordinary to see how this music continues to unite audiences everywhere we go," Madden said. "When we began, we simply wanted to honor the tradition. Forty years later, we’re still sharing that spirit with communities like Concord."
