Concord Man Admits to Shooting Off Gun in Confrontation

Nicholas Ethier this week pleaded guilty to a felony gun charge in federal court.

A Concord man has admitted to firing a gun in a city rooming house earlier this year.

Nicholas Ethier, 36, faces up to 10 years in prison. He’s scheduled to be sentenced Feb. 16.

Police said on Jan. 28, Ethier got into an argument with a man at a Fayette Street rooming house. Ethier pointed an automatic weapon and the man’s face and then fired it near him. The victim was not hurt, police said.

Ethier’s weapon was a .32-caliber gun, police said.

Ethier has a criminal history that includes DWI and leaving the scene of a crash.
