Concord Man With Knife Wounds Taken To Concord Hospital

CONCORD, NH — New Hampshire State Police are investigating an incident involving a man with knife wounds found on Meldrim Thomson State Office Complex on Hazen Drive on Monday morning.

Around 8:45 a.m., Capital Region Fire Dispatch sent Concord EMTs and firefighters to Hazen Drive to stage for an incident. There was initially limited information about the call, with dispatch saying a man was injured in the area between the Department of Environmental Services and the New Hampshire Department of Safety. New Hampshire State Police and a Merrimack County Sheriff’s deputy also arrived at the scene.

Later, first responders and state police learned the victim was a man in his mid-80s with multiple knife wounds. The man was behind a tree near the parking lot. A knife was also found near him, next to a truck, according to scanner chatter.

One first responder stated the wounds did not appear to be a knife attack or assault.

Concord EMTs were allowed to go to the scene and took the man to Concord Hospital.
