Concord Man Perishes After Crash On I-93

Breaking: Eric Diamond passed away after a crash in Canterbury late last night.

CONCORD, NH — A local man passed away after a single-vehicle crash on I-93 South last night, according to the New Hampshire State Police. Eric Diamond, 42, of Concord, reportedly drove off the left side of the Interstate near Mile Marker 49.6 in Canterbury at around 11 p.m. He was taken to Concord Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

According to Lt. M. Commerford of the NHSP, Diamond was driving a 2010 Toyota Corolla when he drifted into the tree line along the highway.

“The collision resulted in heavy front end damage to the Toyota,” he noted. “The left lane of Interstate 93 was shut down for approximately 2.5 hours while Troopers investigated the scene. At this time all aspects of the collision remain under investigation.”

Diamond was transported by Canterbury Fire and Rescue teams to the hospital. NHSP are looking for any information about the collision. Anyone with information should contact Trooper R. Rosas at the New Hampshire State Police – Troop D Barracks at 603-223-3858.
