Firefighters still headed to the area and the Webster commander said the smoke from the wood chipping might be blue.
Later, firefighters learned the logging operation was on Blackwater Road. Firefighters went to the logging area but did not find any fire or issues. They drove all the way north to Pillsbury Lake but found nothing.
Later, Concord Fire Alarm began receiving complaints from Weir Road about air quality and bad smells in the area. Calls also came in from Gould Hill Road in Hopkinton, near Robert Gould Road, reporting smoke in the area. Hopkinton firefighters were sent to that area of town, attempting to locate the fire.
Around 3:15 p.m., Concord Fire Alarm began coordinating with the New Hampshire National Guard to send a helicopter to the area to locate the fire.
