LACONIA, NH — A local man was arrested and held earlier this week on burglar charges after an alleged incident in Laconia on Sunday night, according to police. About 20 minutes later, the suspect – who matched the description of the person from AKA Tool – was seen running from NH Electric Motors, just down the street. A trooper was able to get the suspect – later identified as Lee – to comply with orders to get to the ground and surrender, which he did.

“While dealing with the subject, two additional witnesses arrived on scene,” Noyes said. “They stated they had seen the subject we had detained inside their business at NH Electric. The subject was searched for weapons and had keys and a credit card that was not his in his sock.”

After being read his Miranda Rights, he allegedly confessed that he took the credit card and keys but claimed he was authorized to be in the business, according to the police report. Stolen items from AKA Tool were reportedly discovered inside NH Electric Motors. A backpack with personal belongings owned by Lee were allegedly found in a vehicle found in the area that did not belong to him.

According to a check by police, Lee was found to be out on parole from a robbery charge in Cheshire Superior Court. He was scheduled to be arraigned in Belknap County Superior Court on Monday.

Police are investigating whether or not other businesses or vehicles in the area were hit by theft incidents. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call 603-524-5252.
